Le calendrier chrétien est un système de datation qui a été adopté par les Églises chrétiennes à partir du Ier siècle. Il est basé sur l’ère commune, une période de temps datant du 1er janvier de l’an 1 de notre ère. La fête du jour est la célébration d’un événement important dans le calendrier chrétien, comme la naissance de Jésus ou la Pentecôte.

Le calendrier chrétien est utilisé par plusieurs confessions religieuses, dont l’Église catholique, l’Église orthodoxe et certaines Églises protestantes.

Les fêtes du calendrier chrétien commencent avec l’Avent, une période de quatre semaines avant Noël durant laquelle les fidèles se préparent à accueillir le Christ. Noël, la naissance de Jésus, est célébrée le 25 décembre et marque le début de l’année liturgique. L’Épiphanie, ou Fête des Rois, célèbre la manifestation de Dieu dans sa nature humaine et se tient le 6 janvier. La Quarantaine, ou Carême, est une période de jeûne et de prière qui commence 40 jours avant Pâques et se termine le Vendredi saint. Pâques commémore la résurrection du Christ et se tient au printemps. La Pentecôte célèbre la descente du Saint-Esprit sur les disciples du Christ 50 jours après Pâques et marque la fin de l’année liturgique.
